1. What GimmieSim does
GimmieSim monitors golf simulator availability on albaplay.com and can notify you by email, SMS, or push notification when a matching slot becomes available.
2. Personal data we process
- Contact details: your email address and/or phone number.
- Monitor details: the venue, date, time, simulator, notification method, and timezone you choose.
- Verification data: verification codes and short-lived session proof tokens.
- Push notification data: browser push subscription details if you enable web push.
- Supporter claim data: donation email, phone number, and claim status if you activate supporter boost.
- Technical data: limited request and security data such as IP addresses and service logs.
- Optional location data: your device location only if you choose to sort venues near you.
- Browser storage: language and theme preferences, and temporary session proof data stored locally in your browser.
3. Why we process your data
- To provide the monitoring and notification service you request.
- To verify that you control the email address or phone number used with the service.
- To handle supporter boost claims if you choose to use that feature.
- To keep the service secure and functioning, including abuse prevention and troubleshooting.
4. Legal basis
We process personal data to provide the monitoring and notification service. We also process limited data based on our legitimate interests in securing and operating the service. Optional location access and browser push permissions are based on your device or browser consent settings.
5. Sharing and processors
We do not sell your personal data. We use service providers that help run GimmieSim, including:
- Microsoft Azure for hosting, storage, and email delivery.
- GatewayAPI.EU for SMS delivery.
- Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection when enabled.
- Buy Me a Coffee for donation processing and supporter claim matching.
- Browser push services used when push notifications are enabled.
We also query albaplay.com to check the availability you ask us to monitor.
6. Retention
- Verification records: Verification records are retained briefly for validation and abuse prevention, for 15 minutes.
- Session proof tokens: normally valid for up to 12 hours.
- Monitor records: retained while a monitor is active, then pseudonymized for statistical and service analysis purposes.
- Supporter claim data: donation and claim records keep direct contact details only while the supporter entitlement is still active. After the entitlement expires, those records are pseudonymized and retained for statistical and service analysis purposes.
- Local browser storage: remains on your device until it expires or you clear it.
7. International transfers
Some service providers may process data outside Norway or the EEA. Where relevant, we rely on appropriate contractual or technical safeguards.
8. Your rights
Under GDPR, you may have rights to your data including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and data portability, depending on the circumstances. You can also withdraw optional device permissions such as location or push notifications.
9. Complaints
If you believe your personal data has been processed unlawfully, you can contact us at the address above. You may also lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page.
